BROMPTON NYC EDITION – THE FOLDING BIKE THAT NEVER SLEEPS
Are you after a Brompton folding bike that offers something a little bit different? The exclusive NYC Edition is a collaboration with cycle-friendly fashion design house Vespertine providing a fantastic-riding folding bike with design touches and night-time flair.
The exclusive Brompton NYC edition in an S6L variant has just arrived in store. In addition to all of Brompton’s amazing attributes (great ride, easy and quick fold, wide gear range) there are a few of Brompton’s new accessories (soon to be available) to add that extra bling.
The NYC Edition is essentially a Black Edtion – black frame with black components, however, key components have been giving an anodised lime green finish. So, contrasting against that black bike you have green hubs (front and rear), green cranks, and green badging. There’s also NYC’s Chrysler Building as a motif, courtesy of Vespertine.
Contact points are treated to an Ergon saddle and Ergon GS3 grips, again with lime green highlights.
It comes equipped with the versatile Brompton Roll Top bag, also with Verspatine’s Chrysler motif, in a reflective finish that dominates during the night time hours.
And to help you with that, in addition to a standard rear Brompton light, the NYC Edition is equipped with Brompton’s new USB rechargeable front and rear Cateye units. The powerful front unit is mounted on the fork crown, just below your luggage, and the rear light is on the new saddle mount, up at the eyeline of the following traffic.
Finishing off, taking a cue from the sporty touches of the S-bar with Ergon grips and bar ends, and a more cadence-oriented saddle, the bike comes fitted with Schwalbe’s Kojak tyres – smooth rolling, high-pressure performance with the ultimate in grip, handling, low weight, and speed.
If this floats your boat, we’d suggest you act very quickly. There’s only a handful of these in Australia and indeed we’re not sure we can get another. It could be yours to head down your own Lexington Avenue, or perhaps fold and just take the subway.
